"Spang Gang" Web Program Information

Dear Parent(s),

My name is Desiree Spang. I am a Resource Specialist in the district and one of my specialties is Web Based Instruction. I would like to introduce a unique opportunity for your child. I have a series of ŇBest of the Web" educational game links that can help students learn, practice and test their own skills. Using the Website listed below, you can access ŇPacerÓ pages that are designed to allow your child to go at his/her own pace while practicing skills in reading, writing and math. Each skill area is color coded for your convenience. Letter, tracking sheets and color guides are all available for print online through the homepage.

While all links are carefully analyzed to insure that they are child appropriate, they do not block other sites your child can link to.  Encourage your child to only practice the links from my website, and train him/her to use the back arrow to return to my website. Many parents use this website as their homepage or list it under their web favorites. Of course, the best monitoring for the internet is always looking over your childŐs shoulder and researching their links through computer history.
If you do not have the internet, or a computer at home, your public library offers internet browsing opportunities. I recommend that students practice for at least one hour per week.  The homepage web address is:

http://mrsspangsclass.com/

(please note that there are 3 capitals in this address)

SHORTCUT: GOOGLE "spang gang" AND CLICK 1ST LINK

For grade level practice, students should click "Tiki Joe"  in the middle of the page.

Internet notes:
1. You may have to download a few items (Shockwave, Flash) to help game performance. See homepage for details. Also, dial up access does limit game performance.

2. Students are encouraged to e-mail names of their favorite games and scores to their teacher.

3. If you have any questions, please feel free to e-mail me through this separate email address.
e-mail: dspang@saugususd.org

Thank you for your time. I know that your child will be very excited as he/she navigates through these sites with you. I look forward to a fantastic adventure of educational growth centered around your childŐs needs.
